He is the son of Francesco Stallone, Sr. (a hairdresser) and Jackie Stallone (astrologer, and dancer). He has a younger brother, Frank Stallone, who is a musician and actor. Birth complications caused the lower left side of Sylvester's face disabled, giving him the iconic "snarling" look and slight slurred voice. Stallone has spent a significant portion of his early years in foster care due to of the unstable parent-child relationship. They divorced later. Stallone studied drama at American College in Switzerland, before moving to the University of Miami. Stallone left the school to explore acting in New York City.
