One of her personal highlights was getting selected to be part of Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, as well as writing songs in spite of the chaos in the last couple of years. Niykee is an enduring magnet for new producers getting started. A lot of tracks she gets are a source of song ideas. Within 5 seconds, I can tell what a song is or not. Then I get an idea of a song and begin writing it right away. My guitar is on the porch, and I let the thoughts flow. Most of the time, it's done in less than 30 minutes. Niykee is continuing to improve her skills as a poet and the lyricist. She explains how the trauma she endured in the past can be a source of unique ideas. "Even when I don't write about my own life in the open it is the loss of my sister as well as my difficult childhood are incorporated into my music," she says. This influences my music and creates a deeper understanding behind all things that's an important thing for me. I want to be able to say that I'll be able to listen to any of my music 20 years down the road and be happy with what I had to say.
