Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is a Indian actor, singer-songwriter and musician. She works primarily with Tamil as well as Malayalam movies. Annayum, Rasoolum marked her Malayalam and Tamil debut. Her debut was in Tamil alongside Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea Jeremiah is from an Anglo-Indian background. She was born to an Madras High Court attorney. Andrea is the youngest sister of a researcher assistant from Leuven, Belgium. Jeremiah lived close to Chennai, went to National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea started the classical piano at eight years old, was classified as an "geek" and aspired to be a psychiatric until her 12th grade board exam. Young Stars was the Jackson Five-style band that Andrea joined at age 10. This led to her first professional singing experience and early music composition. In her college she also was an actor and appeared in stage productions organized through The Madras Players. Andrea was the president of The Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea started her acting career as a child performer as a child actor in Girish Karnad Nagamandala. She acted in new leo coffee commercial alongside actor Shiva in the year 2006. She was also the character in Podhigai's series. The actress performed all over India. She was in a short role at the end of Kanda Mudhal 2005. Following her performance of a song on Gautham Vasudev Menon's film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiya the director asked her to join as one of the lead female characters in his next project Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed. It featured Andrea portraying Kalyani a homemaker her husband who is caught in an affair, and then is blackmailed. Andrea was picked to play the role after Simran and Tabu both actresses were approached by producers. The film premiered in the early 2010s. It was first released in Venkat's Mankatha in the year 2011, which starred a number of actors. She made her Malayalam debut on film in Rajeeev's Annayum Rasoolum in the year 2013.
